THE OLIVE TREE AND THE GRAFTED CHURCH

“His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon” (Hosea 14:6). Grafting and budding are the most widely used vegetative propagation methods used in agriculture. According to (Britannica.com), Grafting is defined as the act of placing a portion of one plant (bud or scion) into or on a stem, root, or branch of another (stock) in such a way that a union will be formed and the partners will continue to grow. It’s a means of growth control used extensively with fruit trees and ornamentals such as roses and junipers. The video below explained the practical ways by which grafting is carried out. Symbolically and by inspiration, Paul the Apostle used this illustration to explain how the Church of Christ is being grafted into the original Olive tree, which is very significant in Israel and also symbolizes the tree of life.

Then “the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree”. Please look at Romans 11:16-24, the fall of Israel resulted in Gentiles being grafted into the original tree. In essence, the root of a tree is a very important part of any plant. It is the foundation, strength, and stability of a tree to grow. The roots of the Olive tree go deep down to about 20 feet, this makes it possible for the Olive tree to bear fruits for as long as 100 years. And “if the root is holy, so are the branches”. The church was grafted into the tree to provoke Israel into jealousy and at the same, it was in the original plan of Sovereign God that all men should be saved. Therefore, the Christian life is a grafted life, the mingling of two lives of the divinity of God’s grace and humanity. This implies that human life has the divine life within it through the work of grace as its content, and the divine life has the human life as its expression. As a result, Christians are to walk in the spirit in order to fulfill the purpose of God.

It is imperative for us to walk in life and live according to the spirit and do nothing without Christ, the Captain of our salvation. We need to walk humbly and obey God’s word because He is not a respecter of person. Christ makes it clear to all Christians and declared, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned” (John 15:1-6).In view of this, Christians need to be watchful and vigilant because there’s nothing like eternal security in God’s agenda. The moment you slide into sin like King Saul and Judas Iscariot and you remained in the backsliding state till death strike, you missed it forever.

Again, the disobedient of the Jews and their rejection by God are lessons for us to learn. This should make us fear Him in all things we do or say. Israel thought that they have the law and the privileged position with God, their familiarity with God caused them to became proud and boastful with the lifestyle of holier than thou attitude. Nevertheless, God who is rich in mercy will not cast them off forever; He has prepared their full restoration after the consummation of the church. Therefore, don’t miss the rapture, my dear readers, let's examine ourselves daily in the mirror of God's word and be like the psalmist and declared, “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever” (Psalm 52:8). It's too late to look back.

Remained rapturable!

SPECIAL PRAYER FOR YOU IN THE NEW YEAR!

"Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him. Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God" (Daniel 6:18-23).

Also, anointing to pursue, to overtake, and possess your possessions in this year shall fall on you in the MIGHTY name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Good day and have a blessed NEW Year!

MILESTONE OF CHRISTIAN JOURNEY

1. Salvation: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”(Romans 3:23; 6:23). God of love and mercy knew that we would not be able to find a way of salvation out through our own efforts. As a result, He provided the solution. His love for fallen man made Him draw the plan of salvation. He allowed His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer and die for us, so that through His suffering and sacrifice we can pass from death to life. “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Therefore, we must Admit that you are a sinner, be willing to repent, believe that Jesus died for your sins, and go to God in prayer, repent and invite Jesus into your life. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). 2. Supplication: “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41). Prayers remain the only key that opens heaven’s doors for abundance of God’s grace and prosperity in our Christian journey on earth (1Thessalonians 5:17; Ephesians 6:18). 3. Separation: “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (2Corinthians 6:16-18). Just like oil and water cannot mix, so there is separation between believers and unbelievers. The unjust will hate the just; the unrighteous will hate the righteous (James 4:4). 4. Surrender (Submission): “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Every believer in Christ need to separate from the worldly system and practices that brings people into captivity. 5. Sanctification: After we are born again, there is still another experience that Christ gave on the Cross, sanctification, and He prayed for that, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17). The world cannot have sanctification, but they are to have salvation this second work of grace (1 Thessalonians. 4:3, 7-8; Hebrews 12:14). This sanctification is possible because faithful is He who has called you, He will do it in Jesus Name. 6. Spiritual baptism: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The power of Holy Ghost upon you will teach you all things, and will bring to your remembrance the teachings and words of Christ, this is why it is important that you are baptized in the Holy Ghost. Also, this is the power for service in the kingdom of God. 7. Soul-wining: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). We are on earth not just for the temporary gain of life, nor for bread and butter, but many have forgotten that, and do not prepare their soul, nor the soul souls of others for heaven, so they lose it. 8. Stewardship and service: “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2). God required faithfulness of true followers of Christ in service. Not only that, they are expected to be models of righteousness to other members of the church. Believers are to exhibit the true virtues of Christianity in their workplace. This is what differentiates us from others in the world.

END TIME WARNING!

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:11-13).

Our Lord Jesus Christ foretold the major trends that would precede His return to earth and therefore, counseled all believers to endure to the very end irrespective of life challenges, trials, and persecutions they faced daily. He mentioned was religious imposters who would come in His name to deceive many. The world systems and traditions through Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.) are taking over the hearts of many Christians today. But the truly wise child will take to the counsel of the Father through the Scriptures and turn away from their negative influences that engross his heart.

Therefore, stand on the word of God always, be ready to throw away anything that will not allow you to enter heaven when the end comes, and fight the good fight of faith so that you can make it to the end. The day of the Lord is coming nearer than you can ever think of, the love of many friends of Jesus is waxing cold daily, but God does not want it to be so for you. Dear friends, do you take Christ’s warning seriously? Then pray this prayer: Father Lord, grant me abundant grace to love and follow you to the end. Amen!
